About Us

The story of Alaska Cottages

We pride ourselves on a careful selection of hand-picked quality cottages and homes, in rural locations both in South Devon and the Lake District.

Our ethos is to make our guests feel as at home in Alaska properties as they do in their own homes. Whilst being as comfortable and practical as possible.

Both the Lake District and Devon offer so much for the hiker, climber, cyclist and water sports enthusiast. Or simply a ramble out with the dog, either by the sea or Moors and Fells.

All the properties while in rural settings are close enough to towns and facilities such as supermarkets, local shops and petrol stations.

The Lake District Cottages are both situated in the rolling South Lakes countryside. Less than a mile from stunning Morecambe Bay beaches and yet only 15 minutes from the water side of Lake Coniston. The home of Beatrix Potter and the famous record-breaking attempt of Donald Cambell’s to be the fastest man on water.

Both ‘Daffodil Cottage’ Little Urswick and ‘Butterfly Cottage’ Bardsea are no more than 3 Miles from the Historic Market Town of Ulverston, with its traditional Old Market Hall and cobbled Market Square. There is a large choice shops, pubs and restaurants.

Happy Alaska Customers

We take pride in our cottages and love hearing from you. Here is some feedback from a few of our latest stays.

Hi Alaska Cottages, thanks again for a lovely stay, we truly loved the Devon beaches and Dartmoor, the cottage was spotless and finished to a high standard. We will be next summer – pandemic allowing – haha. Thank you!

Stayed in Devon

Once again, a great stay in Little Urswick, the Lake District is such a stunning setting. Again, the cottage was top notch, and we were extremely impressed with the latest renovations. Keep up the great work and we’ll see you soon.
